This workshop will explore how to create basic web maps as well as build stories around geography and integrating other types of media such as documents and images in hopes of building digital narratives.

We will use ArcGIS Online but also explore Google Maps, Carto, and Mapbox. The workshop is designed to show attendees how to build stories with maps and various ways to represent data spatially, as well as linking it to text and images.

Prior to the workshops, attendees need to prepare by doing the following:
  • Create a free ArcGIS account at: https://www.arcgis.com/home/createaccount.html
  • Create a free Flickr account: https://www.flickr.com/
